what i wore- 1 week postpartum

recovering from labor has been a slow process. i’ve mainly been wearing sweatpants since my regular jeans don’t quite fit yet and i refuse to wear my maternity jeans. we’ve gotten out of the house a lot over the past few days and i’ve tried exceptionally hard to get dressed up and put on makeup. it’s amazing what a little bit of mascara and foundation can do to your mood.

i found this top at target and it’s great for nursing. i actually got it in two different patterns because it’s so convenient (it’s also on sale this week!). the knit cardigan is from gap outlet a long time ago and the leggings that you can’t see are from boston store. i also just recently got these boots from steve madden.

momma’s- what postpartum style advice do you have?

39.5 weeks = no style inspiration

oh guys- i’m slightly ashamed to share my lack of inspiration to get dressed lately. i’ve managed to pull it together somewhat at work with leggings and long sweaters (that have turned into short shirts), but the second i get home or head to the doctor.. out come the sweats and t-shirts.

yesterday was my last day of work and as soon as i got home i changed into sweats and was too lazy to change my top, so i left my jersey knit dress from old navy on. i bought it last summer and it has been one of my go-to outfits over the past few months.

it gets worse.. last friday i ran into town to get a few things and left my sweats from college on. i tried to make myself feel a little bit better by bringing one of my new wristlets with, which really tied the outfit together (wink, wink).

and lastly, to document my lack of pregnancy style and to give you a little insight into how it feels to be 6’3”- here’s a snapshot of my long little legs hanging out at the hospital. my yoga pants from lululemon have been my favorite and most comfortable thing to wear, along with my pink moccasins from sperry.

pink!

pink has always been one of my favorite colors, however i’ve had a hard time pulling it off. pink shirts make me feel juvenile and i’ve never found a pair of pink pants that fit. i still love incorporating pink into my wardrobe, but it’s usually with accessories. i recently found these adorable sperry’s (in my size- woo woo) and couldn’t pass them up. fast forward a few weeks, during one of my splurge shopping trips for nolan and i came across this handbag (sak’s fifth ave outlet).

i’m a little picky about my pinks- i’m either more towards the pinkish-fuchsia side or a light pink. below is one of my new necklaces and has all of my favorite shades of pink. you can find it in my shop, here.

what’s your favorite shade of pink?

28 weeks

top: gap maternity, skirt: old navy (linking up with the pleated poppy for wiww)

as you can see, my baby bump is growing quickly! i’m definitely feeling that i look pregnant now. i’m enjoying this stage of the pregnancy and other than being a little extra tired- i’m feeling wonderful. my weight is a little higher than i would like, so i’m trying to monitor what i eat a little more. it’s been difficult with my favorite food season right around the corner. if only i could survive on tailgate food, pumpkin recipes, and apple pie.

nolan’s nursery is coming along nicely, just need to decide what color curtains we want to put up. then i’ll be able to start getting things on the walls and it will be close to done. my mom is making him a beautiful quilt that i can’t wait to display over his crib.

17 week update and a review

yesterday i reached the 17 week mark. things continue to go okay.. baby is healthy and i’ve started to feel him move (eeekk!), however my all day morning sickness has also included headaches and not being able to sleep. i know it’ll all be worth it in the end, but the days go by a lot slower when i’m not feeling well. thank you for your patience and understanding with my bare little blog lately.

i’ve gained a little bit of weight, but still am able to pull off most of my regular clothes that involve elastic. i gave in and bought a few things from gap online and the t-shirt above has been worn 6 times in the last 7 days (we have a quick turnaround for laundry here). i’m blown away with how expensive maternity clothes are, but have been able to catch some 25-40% off sales on gap’s website.

i received this beautiful cowl in the mail from jackie of world of jackie designs. it’s such high quality and feels little a little mini blanket around my neck. i can’t wait to wear it on cool summer evenings and basically all of fall. check out jackie’s facebook page here and take a look at all of her beautiful creations!!

candid closet shot and wiww

i’m usually pretty good with budgeting my money when it comes to clothes. in college i wasn’t.. here’s an old picture of my closet- i’m a little embarrassed (wouldn’t you be too?).

the good news is that i wear almost everything in there still, minus the bright pink shoes and a few pairs of pants.

when i was in south carolina last week, i took advantage of a little shopping with my favorite shopping partner. we went to a few outlets (including kate spade, ahh heaven) and the local mall. i couldn’t pass up a few shirts i’ve been eyeing up at express, that happened to be on sale.

i’m back with another week of what i wore wednesday with lindsey, after two month vacation from snapping photos of outfits. saturday night was spent at dave and buster’s, i’m not a fan of loud and busy places, but playing a few “big kid” games and trying something new was enjoyable.

hopefully i will be back in less than two months for another what i wore post, but it all depends on b snapping pictures and it still being light out when i get home.

craft fair summary & an outfit post

i participated in another craft fair yesterday. overall it went okay, i love people watching and hearing everyone’s feedback about my products. i was so excited to use the new display that b made me and loved how it all came together.

(outfit: sweater dress- kohl’s, leggings- target, boots- macy’s, floral blossom pin- the lovely poppy

the wire baskets are from hobby lobby (snagged them during a 50% off sale for under $10).

the display that b made me was from four secondhand shutters and two wood boards. i’ll be sharing the tutorial soon. does the garland look familiar to you? i loved how much color it added!

you may have spotted a few new products, which are now listed in the shop. i’m in the process of switching over from etsy to big cartel and it’s 95% complete. i’ll be keeping the etsy shop up until everything expires, however all new products and discounts will be in the cartel shop.
