washi tape love! (obsession)

one of my latest obsessions has been with washi tape. in addition to using it in my planner, random pieces of glassware, and all over my office i’ve recreated a few old pieces around the house.

this clock was originally used to put photos where the yellow circles are, however i took everything out and washi-ed away.

i folded over some washi tape on some twine and came up with this fun little washi banner to string over my inspiration board, which is still 75% empty- don’t worry.. i’m still inspired :-)

this glass jar holds random stuff in the studio and currently holds fabric strips that i use for packaging. i love how it turned out and if i was still single- i’d turn all of my plates and bowls into something similar. somehow i can’t imagine my husband enjoying this type of decor.

i shared this washi tape notebook tutorial a few weeks ago, and am planning on making a few more for gifts. maybe even some clipboards or folders, orrrrrrr binders (now i’ve got myself all excited!!!)

i even found a way to incorporate it on my laptop.

i may try this washi tape keyboard tutorial next. i’d love to hear your ideas on what to use some on next!!

i’m linking up with craftaholics anonymous for a little washi tape party, make sure you stop by!

craft fair summary & an outfit post

i participated in another craft fair yesterday. overall it went okay, i love people watching and hearing everyone’s feedback about my products. i was so excited to use the new display that b made me and loved how it all came together.

(outfit: sweater dress- kohl’s, leggings- target, boots- macy’s, floral blossom pin- the lovely poppy

the wire baskets are from hobby lobby (snagged them during a 50% off sale for under $10).

the display that b made me was from four secondhand shutters and two wood boards. i’ll be sharing the tutorial soon. does the garland look familiar to you? i loved how much color it added!

you may have spotted a few new products, which are now listed in the shop. i’m in the process of switching over from etsy to big cartel and it’s 95% complete. i’ll be keeping the etsy shop up until everything expires, however all new products and discounts will be in the cartel shop.

5 minute bunting tutorial

as many of you know, i have a slight obsession with bunting. if my husband let me, i would have bunting up in every room of the house. i’ve even thought of putting bunting on the outside of bailey’s crate. today i’m sharing a 5 minute bunting tutorial. it does involve a sewing machine, but i’m confident that even if you have never sewn before if your life, you can still do this project.

you’ll need: a variety of scrapbooking paper (scraps work fine), a sewing machine, and coordinating thread.. plus scissors

1) cut your paper into thin slices. i like the look of them uneven, but cut whichever way you prefer.

2) pick your first strip and place it under the needle. you can keep your sewing machine on it’s normal settings.

 3) pick a reference point to line up the strips. this will ensure the tops are even

4) continue to insert strips with an inch or so in between. i’d counted to two and then inserted another strip.
..this should bring you to right around the 4:59 minute mark- and you are done! i hope you love easy projects as much as me,

i’m thinking of making one out of photos for my office and possibly throwing something together that lists prices for my upcoming craft fair.

bunting bandwagon

i’ve officially jumped on the bunting bandwagon. it’s currently 7:21am and i’ll be leaving for work in about 10 minutes, the only thing i can think about is getting home to make a handbag with a bunting design on it. after pinning my life away on pinterest i’ve narrowed down my favorite bunting inspiration pieces.
