what i’ve been making!

preparing for a baby may be the best thing that ever happened to my sewing machine and our local fabric shop. i’ve enjoyed making burp cloths, pacifier clips, a blanket, and some wall decor for the nursery.
i decided to try to make some wall decor myself vs. buying anything yet and i’m fairly happy with how it turned out. the frame was a plain white wood frame from michael’s and i painted it with martha stewart’s beach glass. i researched a few wood distressing techniques and tried them out. the giraffe is cut out from scrapbook paper and i have been practicing my embroidery skills on plain linen for a few weeks now.

a lot of people have commented on how i’ve gotten into the nesting phase early, but the truth is that i’ve been in a nesting phase since college. i’m honestly a little nervous what’s going to happen if i do indeed get into a nesting phase, because it probably will entail some odd rituals.

baby b has been pretty active, kicking away and still catching me off guard. we settled on a name, but three minutes later i changed my mind and we’re back to the drawing board now. hopefully i will be able to share a finalized name soon!!
