in case you missed it, i announced on facebook and instagram (thelovelypoppy) that b and i are having a baby. thank you all so much for your kind and overwhelming support. the last few months have been a little brutal. some of you have noticed that my posts have been lacking and the reason for that is because my morning sickness has been 24/7. i have only been able to keep bread and a few other random foods down. vegetables do not last in my system for more than 30 minutes and i have quickly become burnt out of bananas, yogurt, and cheerios. other than the morning sickness, things have been going pretty well. i still fit in my normal clothes and have been able to sleep about 6-7 hours at night and try to nap for an hour or two when i get home. i had my 12 week ultrasound last week and got to see the baby moving around. “he” certainly likes to move around and i’m hoping as he grows, he’ll get a little more comfy and stay still. i’d prefer to keep all of my ribs in tact
b and i don’t have a preference on sex, just hoping for a happy and healthy baby. we’re pretty sure it’s a boy- but won’t know for sure until our 20 week ultrasound. we have a name picked out of it’s a girl, however we can’t seem to come up with any boy names we like.
it’s been really funny hearing everyone’s reaction when we tell them, because one of the first things out of everyone’s mouth is “oh boy, how is bailey going to handle the attention?” i’m sure she will be fine after a few days of adjusting, however i am a little worried about her stepping on the baby, since she has no concept of what she can walk on and what she needs to walk around.
i haven’t been able to do too much due to the morning (all day) sickness and b has been amazing picking up my slack. over the weekend i forced myself out of bed and made a few burp clothes and snapped a picture of my belly.
for those of you that are mommy’s what do you recommend to help with morning sickness?
books to read? websites to checkout? and of course- baby shops to ohh and ahhh over?

Try peppermints and ginger ale. This always worked for me. However, if it get’s really bad my sister in law had to ask her doctor for a prescription. Oh I did find that sports drinks like power ade or gatrade helped sometimes too. Good luck and congrats!
thanks emily! ginger ale has been helping a little

Congrats! Get some Zofran from the doc (there is an option that disolves under your tongue if you can’t keep the pill down). But Lemon drops and anything ginger should help a little! Good luck!
