supplies: two shades of dye (try using primary colors [reds, pinks, yellows, and blues]), elastic, and rubber bands

1) start off by tying off sections of the elastic with rubber bands, if you want a lot of stripes- use a lot of rubber bands. i used four rubber bands for a twelve inch piece of elastic

2) saturate the elastic with dye

3) let the elastic sit and absorb overnight (or 10-12 hours)

4) rinse out the elastic in the sink, then hand wash with detergent

 5) let dry (it surprisingly takes at least 10 hours)

6) fold over and tie together, then trim edges
